gina has answers if you think your vagina is just too big or too small, we want your vagina just right

October 3rd, 2009

For women:

is your vagina or vulva too big –

or too small?

Written by Dr David Delvin, GP and family planning specialist

Worries about vaginal and vulval size are extremely common among women.

The vulva

The vulva is the visible part of the female genitals. It includes the clitoris, the labia, and the urinary opening.

This is scarcely surprising, because a woman’s feelings about her own vagina and vulva are central to her sexuality.

If you are concerned about your own vagina or vulva, please don’t hesitate to consult a doctor and get yourself examined.

Quite a few women who write to us say that they’re not happy to consult their own GPs about this subject.

In the UK, a very useful alternative is your local family planning clinic. These clinics are staffed by (mainly) female doctors who are skilled in vaginal examination – and who carry out dozens of such examinations each week. They are also used to dealing with worries about ‘dimensions’. So they can rapidly give you an expert opinion about the size of your vagina or vulva.

Are you too big?

If you’ve never had children, it’s almost unthinkable that your vagina or vulva is too big.

Unfortunately, there’s a very common myth in some parts of Britain – a myth to the effect that a woman who has lots of sex will get a large vagina. This is just nonsense! No matter how much sex you have, it won’t affect your vaginal or vulval size.

But what does affect your dimensions is childbirth. Unfortunately, the more babies you have, the more likely your vagina is to become widened. This is due to damage to the muscles and other supporting tissues of the vaginal walls. It’s more common after difficult and prolonged labours. It can often be prevented by very determined use of the postnatal exercises that midwives and physiotherapists teach.

What happens if your vagina or vulva

really is too big?

Let’s look at the vagina (ie the interior) first.

If your vaginal ‘barrel’ is excessively big, so that you are ‘slack’, this can have the following effects:

  • intercourse may be less satisfactory for you.
  • intercourse may be less satisfying for your partner.
  • you may be more liable to experience the phenomenon of air getting into (and out of) the vagina – a phenomenon known in some parts of the country as ‘fanny farting’.
  • bath water may get into your vagina – though this isn’t likely to be a health problem.
  • much more seriously, lax muscles and ligaments around the vagina may lead to prolapse (descent of the womb and other organs) in middle age or later life.

What can be done about a slack vagina?

If your vagina is overly large and slack, the possible courses of action are as follows.

  • Urgently set about tightening up your vagina by doing pelvic floor muscle exercises. Any midwife, nurse, physiotherapist, or doctor can teach you to do them. However, you’ll need to do them intensively for six months in order to get much improvement. To get you started, try this:
    1. tighten up the muscles at the front of the lower part of your body – as if you were trying hard to stop yourself peeing.
    2. hold this contraction for 10 seconds.
    3. relax for 10 seconds.
    4. contract again for 10 seconds.
    5. continue to contract and relax like this for a full five minutes.
    6. repeat four times daily.
  • You could also buy a vaginal muscle developer. However, these are expensive – about £75 to £200 – and you do have to work at them for quite a while to get any improvement. They’re now readily available through sex shops and the new mail-order organisations which sell sexual devices to women.
  • Go to a gynaecologist (in the UK you’ll usually need a GP’s referral letter first) to discuss the possibility of a ‘repair’ operation. This draws the weakened pelvic tissues together and firms everything up.
  • Finally, please note that as a temporary expedient, a woman whose vagina has become too big can improve the quality of intercourse (for herself and her partner) by simply popping a small vibrator inside during intercourse. This may sound surprising, but in fact, if you have had several children and become quite loose, there may well be plenty of room for both a small vibrator and a penis inside you – thus giving a much snugger fit.

What if you feel your vulva is too large?

A lot of women are desperately worried about the appearance of their vulvas – feeling that they are ‘too large’ or that the labia are ‘too long’, or that bits of it protrude unequally. (Sometimes they are influenced in these views by having seen misleading pornographic magazines or videos – in which the ‘heroine’s’ vulva appears impossibly neat and tidy!)

If that applies to you, my advice is to go to a Family Planning Clinic – because the women doctors there are dealing with this sort of worry all the time.

Very often, they’ll be able to reassure you that you are in fact normal.

But if there really is an abnormality, it can be corrected by surgery – carried out by either a gynaecologist or a plastic surgeon. Since the beginning of this century, such operations have become increasingly common; however, a high proportion of them are performed privately, rather than on the NHS. However, some National Health gynaecologists are willing to shorten the labia of women who are distressed by an irregular appearance.

What if you think that you’re too small?

Alternatively, do you think that you are ‘built’ too small?

I have to tell you that statistically this is most unlikely. Vast numbers of patients think that they are excessively small, but only once in a blue moon are they actually right.

The symptoms that make them feel that they are unusually small include:

But the vast majority of women who complain of these problems do eventually turn out to be normal-sized. Nearly always, they are suffering from a degree of vaginismus – the common condition that makes the vaginal muscles contract whenever any approach is made to the genitals.

To find out if your vagina really is too small, you should have an internal examination by an experienced doctor who is good at putting patients at their ease.

Apparent ‘smallness’

There are rare cases in which the apparent ‘smallness’ is due to the fact that the vagina has a ‘wall’ (a septum) down the middle, or has developed as a ‘double’ barrel. Happily, these women can be cured surgically.

The obvious place to go for this is a Family Planning Clinic – especially as the staff are mainly female. Indeed, many of the doctors and nurses have been specifically trained in dealing with this particular problem.

In the unlikely event that your vagina really does turn out to be too small, it is possible for a skilled gynaecologist to enlarge it surgically for you.

However, I must stress that in 30 years of practising sexual medicine, I have yet to see a patient who actually needed this operation.

gina poses the question + if you were to speak on behalf of the vagina what would she say ???

October 3rd, 2009

Speaking on Behalf of the Vagina

By April Short
City on a Hill Press Editor

If your vagina could talk, what would it say?

This was one of many questions posed at a run-through of “The Vagina Monologues,” a benefit presentation that will play this weekend in the Porter Dining Hall.

“The show has such an array of vagina wisdom that I don’t think really gets talked about in other plays or in our society in general,” said actor Kiana Reeves, who plays The Woman Who Loved to Make Vaginas Happy.

The Vagina Monologues, an Obie-award winning play, will be performed by UCSC women. Their performance seeks to open up discussion about female sexuality on a local sphere, while benefiting a larger cause. The play will donate 10 percent of its profits to V-Day, a global movement founded by “Vagina Monologues” playwright Eve Ensler, to end violence against women and girls.

The other portion of the play’s revenue will benefit the local organizations Defensa de Mujeres in Watsonville and the Survivors Healing Center in Santa Cruz, each of which provide women’s crisis support to rape and assault victims.

Jordan Menashe and Akiva Levi are co-directors of the production. “It’s a good show — it’s really entertaining, the girls are all talented, but it does something for the community,” Menashe said.

This year marks the eighth annual presentation of “Vagina Monologues” at UCSC, and the 11th anniversary of the play itself.

The “Vagina Monologues” crew is an all-female cast whose collaboration and enthusiasm for the production saturate the performance.

During a Sunday evening run-through, one cast member stood on stage waiting for lighting adjustments as another called to her “You look good!” The cohesive, supportive nature of the cast comes together in a comedic and evocative production. As the show ran through, cast members in the audience giggled at the puns, pleasures and humorous anecdotes performed onstage.

At opening night of the show on Friday, March 13, “vagina-pops” will be sold for audience members to snack on and information about sexual assault help will be available. “We have worked on the production process altogether for about a year,” said co-producer Sarah Steer. “All of the people on the cast are amazing.”

As characters of all ages and origin share stories of sexual woe and wonder, the show sends a message to audiences that fear of the unknown is all that keeps women — and humanity in general — from expressing openness and feeling comfortable with personal sexuality.

“I think we consider ourselves a liberal campus, but there are still these women who have issues with their gender roles and bodies,” Menashe said. “We’re lucky to have these talented women telling these stories.”

gina poses the question + what drives a woman to lustful behavior ???

October 3rd, 2009

Triggering Automatic Female Lust

by Mike Pilinski

Contrary to what you see every week on ’Sex and the City’, women are the complete opposite of men in that, the more *anonymous* the sexual encounter, the LESS gratifying they find it to be.

Unlike the fictional uber-slut Miranda, satisfying sex does not begin and end with the quest to find someone new to have an orgasm with. For the vast majority of women, the MORE connected they feel to their partner, the more overwhelming the total sexual experience is for them.

Just the reverse of typical male thinking, right? Men are intensely turned on by the thought of having sex with a woman for that very FIRST time, or by scoring a one-night stand with a perfect stranger, or perhaps fantasizing about being in a porno movie and having wanton sex with dozens of hot women he hardly knows. The common link between all these scenarios is that there is NO emotional bonding involved. Hell, there’s hardly even an exchange of names! For the man, the more anonymous the sex the more *exciting* the idea of the conquest.

How the two genders make use of (and even exploit) this knowledge of each other’s romantic weakness, however, is an entirely DIFFERENT story.

Women know exactly how to turn men on by manipulating this hardwired ’quirk’ in their character that absolves them of the need to actually know anything about a woman who has triggered his desire to mate. How? Simply by pushing this uniquely male “anonymous sex” button long and often… by acting sexy AND remaining emotionally aloof at the same time. The stripper, the table dancer, the whore. The molten hot stranger. Any persona will do – and all are quite useful when their design is seduction!

Men, on the other hand, seem mostly clueless about how to turn the tables and pull off the same trick. In fact, the prevailing feeling is that female lust is such a mysterious and unfathomable ’holy grail’ so rarely encountered in real life that it’s taken on a kind of mythical quality. I guess some women just have it for certain men… and not for others, and there’s no understanding the reasons why.

But can female lust be triggered by the deliberate actions of a man? I say absolutely yes. Women get sexually turned on just as men do of course, but — owing to differences in reproductive biology — by a completely different set of mental processes. Men go for a VISUAL look that suggests youthfulness and thus fertility. But females aren’t interested in a man’s age so much because males remain virile well into the later part of their lifespan.

What they look for, instead, are signs of male POWER.

You see, women possess a deeply-rooted pre-intellectual *instinct* which compels them to submit themselves for copulation in the presence of what they sense to be a DOMINANT MALE. They cannot help feeling like this — despite the fact that the modern woman manages to suppress the urge to act on these feelings most of the time (but, not always…). So when a man learns how to project the most subtlest of gestures, actions and attitudes that suggest he’s a “dominant male”, he can force a woman’s subconscious mating desires to become aroused WHETHER SHE LIKES IT OR NOT.

And some of them won’t like it a bit. She may get upset because you’ve forced her to experience a potent feeling which she may feel compelled to conceal with the workings of her more rational mind. And yet when a woman consents to have sex with a man who has set off these automatic desires in her, she stands to enter into the hottest, most fulfilling sensual experience that it is possible for her to have. And she knows it.

…AND she’s also frightened of it — because once unleashed in this way, it can be difficult to stem the cascade of all-consuming passion. She risks taking the kind of social and romantic chance that only happens a precious few times in her life. Can she allow herself to become addicted to a man who can make her see stars?

By learning to adopt the actions and attitudes of the dominant male, it is possible to create these sort of emotional disturbances in women at will. Almost any girl that you can manage to talk to in a SPECIFIC sort of way can have her “lust triggers” ignited like a blow torch. And when the ability to seduce becomes more a skill than mere luck, your chances of suffering the humiliation of being rejected vanish too. Now you have done more than learned to act the part of a dominant male, you have *become* one. And truthfully, there’s no real difference.

Because in this game, acting is BEING.

gina poses the question: how do you price a working vagina ??

September 24th, 2009
spitzer_hooker_1.jpg

Unless you’re deaf and blind and terrified of the television, you’ve been made adequately aware of the prostitution ring scandal in which former New York governor Eliot Spitzer was embroiled this week. I say former New York governor, because as all you non-blind deaf television-phobes know, The Ass Bandit resigned yesterday. God knows the citizens of New York don’t want some jackass willing to drop eighty grand on pussy overseeing the state’s 2008 budget! (”Now, I see the ‘public education’ and ‘labor and workforce development’ allocations here, but where are the funds for the ’super hot pussy?’ Did I miss it?”) Anyway, what we’ve all been wanting to know — who was this mystery hooker “Kristen,” and what the hell could she possibly be doing that costs $4700 a night? Page Six reveals

Her real name is Ashley Alexandra Dupré, and according to her MySpace profile, she loves music and she looks up to her brother. The… 22-year-old singer fled “an abusive home” at the age of 17. In 2004 she arrived in New York City, where she says she spent two years trying to make it in the music biz.

“I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own. I am here, in NY because of my music,” the woman known as “Kristen” says on her MySpace profile. “I can honestly tell you to never dwell on the past, but build from it and keep moving forward,” she writes. She describes her song “What We Want” as being “about trust, something my past has made very difficult for me to feel,” and that it was “inspired by a guy, who taught me not to confuse my dreams with the sounds of the city.”

And just like that, I can guaran-damn-tee this dumb twat’s song will get radio play. After it makes the rounds on the gossip blogs and network television first, of course. Followed by several morning show interviews, a tell-all book, her own makeup and/or clothing line and possible made-for-TV movie. Because all it takes to break into the elite strata of celebritydom in these great United States is to suck off somebody rich or famous and get caught doing it. Even better if you make a tape of yourself doing it so you can sell it online and really saturate the market. Some people might try to tell you that diversifying your funds or investing overseas is the best way to secure your financial future, but I’m here to tell you your ticket to early retirement is actually hidden is some old white dude’s pants. The path to financial freedom is only a zipper away!

Feed the monkey and listen to her shitty song at Page Six or visit her MySpace here.

gina poses the question why such a difference between whores and consultants ???

September 24th, 2009

Consider this tidbit:

Whores (and gigolos) rent out their genitalia to customers. Consultants rent out their brains to customers. Both collect fees for allowing perfect strangers to make use of their respective organs for a limited period of time.

Why is it, then, that whores are abhorred and degraded while consultants are praised and elevated?

Why is a brain different to a vagina?

Doesn’t the use made of a brain have more indelible and irreversible consequences than almost any use of a vagina?

Shouldn’t the mundane use of a magnificent and breathtakingly exotic machine (such as the brain) be considered more degrading than the use – however mindless – of a more basic organ such as the vagina?

After all, in whoring, the whore’s vagina is put to the full use it was designed for to start with.

But a consultant (or a lawyer, or an accountant, or a college teacher) often under-utilizes his brain to an offending extent.

True, the whore provides us with an emotion-less imitation of an act which is often emotion laden. Often – but not always. And this is the redeeming feature – that sex is a mode of communication capable of expressing a wide range of emotions and of conveying a wide variety of messages, many of them devoid of all emotion. Thus, prostitution sits well and comfortably within this spectrum.

But not so mental prostitution. We hold in disdain and contempt he who disavows his own beliefs, or disowns the things and people dearest to him – and all this for material gain. Shouldn’t we be doubly repelled by he who disowns his own intellectual potential, his own capabilities and capacities and compromises by prostituting his brain?

If a person is capable of writing a great novel but instead writes dispatches for a daily paper – shouldn’t we be taken aback by him? If another has been a brilliant physicist in his youth only to become a mediocre financial consultant due to his own laziness and lack of perseverance – shouldn’t we be appalled by him more than we are by a prostitute?

Verily, isn’t he himself a prostitute albeit of a different kind, prostituting a different organ?

What is it that makes our judgement of the vagina materially different in this critical and analytic age in which all prejudices were proclaimed dead (even the biggest one of all, God)?

I think in both cases (meritocracy versus aristocracy and consultant versus whore) – we react to the real as opposed to the imitated, the genuine or authentic as opposed to the fake, the natural as opposed to the artificial, the full path as opposed to the shortcut.

what do you think???

have you an automated burning man vagina ???

September 23rd, 2009

What Are the Causes of Vaginal Burning?

Vaginal burning is a very uncomfortable condition that affects women all over the world. Determining the specific cause of vaginal burning is important because successful treatment depends on eliminating the cause of the burning entirely. Causes of vaginal burning include sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal infections and vaginal irritation from the chemicals contained in soaps, detergents and hygiene products.

Trichomoniasis

According to physicians at the University of Maryland Medical Center, trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease that is caused by a parasite. This parasite is known as Trichomonas vaginalis and is passed through intercourse or genital contact with someone who has the infection. Vaginal burning is one of the symptoms of trichomoniasis, along with painful intercourse, vaginal discharge, vaginal odor and vulvar itching.

Gonorrhea

Physicians from McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois define gonorrhea as a sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Gonorrhea can cause vaginal burning as well as irregular bleeding, painful urination and vaginal discharge. Untreated gonorrhea can lead to more serious complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility and ectopic pregnancy. Approximately 700,000 new cases of gonorrhea are diagnosed each year.

Yeast Infections

Vaginal yeast infections are another cause of vaginal burning, according to physicians from the department of obstetrics and gynecology at UCLA Health System. These infections are caused by the fungus known as Candida albicans and can cause other symptoms including a thick discharge, vulvar inflammation, labial itching and pain during intercourse. Vaginal yeast infections are usually treated with over-the-counter creams or suppositories or prescription antifungal medications.

Viral Vaginitis

Viral vaginitis is caused by several different types of viruses. According to physicians from the University of Virginia Health System, the herpes simplex virus and the human papillomavirus (HPV) are common causes of viral vaginitis. Herpes causes vaginal burning and sores on the vulva and in the vagina. HPV causes warts to grow on the vagina, rectum and vulva and can also cause vaginal burning and irritation.

Bacterial Vaginosis

Professionals from the Centers for Disease control define bacterial vaginosis as a condition that results from an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. This bacteria causes an imbalance in the amounts of bacteria that normally grow in the vagina. In addition to vaginal burning, bacterial vaginosis can cause vaginal discharge, odor and itching.

Chlamydia

According to health professionals from Brown University, chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted bacterial infection. The disease is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis and can cause infection in the vagina, cervix, penis, urethra, anus or eye. In women, chlamydia can cause vaginal burning as well as pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding, vaginal itching, nausea and fever. This infection can be transmitted from person-to-person through any form of sexual intercourse.

Noninfectious Vaginitis

Medical professionals from the University of Maryland Medical Center define noninfectious vaginitis as any type of vaginal irritation that is not caused by a bacterial or viral infection. Many causes of noninfectious vaginitis are caused by irritation from medications or chemicals in soap and other hygiene products. Atrophic vaginitis is caused by the decrease in hormones that accompanies removal of the ovaries, menopause or radiation therapy. Both forms of noninfectious vaginitis can cause vaginal burning and other symptoms.

Vaginal Odor Causes and Prevention

By Remy Vixamar -

Vaginal odor may limit sexual activity in a relationship; the woman feels uncomfortable, and the man becomes a little distant. However, the vagina has a distinct smell that is not a problem.

Each girl has a particular vaginal smell; it is natural. Even when you notice a recent difference in its smell, it is not necessarily an infection. That change may be linked to a specific moment of your menstrual cycle because the smell of your vagina can vary depending on the time of the cycle.

A healthy vagina always emerges a discrete odor at one time or another.

It is normal that it has a certain odor sometimes. Whether this natural smell is neutral or not, it is a matter of personal judgment. In fact, some women notice their odor when there is no notable odor detected by their partners.

However, if the odor changes and becomes strongly unpleasant (repugnant fishy vaginal odor), this change deserves attention because it is perhaps a sign of a serious vaginal infection. Left untreated, this condition may cause not only physiologic problems but also emotional (stress) and social problems (the person feels uncomfortable thinking the odor is detected by others).

What to do when you have vaginal odor?

Many women believe that vaginal odor are the result of a lack of personal hygiene and wash excessively their vagina unaware that they worsen the problem. While poor genital hygiene can be the cause, excessive washing is not the solution. Very often, women hampered by a strong vaginal odor should not begin to wash themselves intensively. That does not help at all. The first thing to do should be restoring the acidity and the balance of the vaginal flora naturally. That restoration cannot be done by excessive antibiotic intake; it decreases your immune system.

How to restore the balance of the vaginal flora?

The vaginal flora consists of a large number of microaerophilic bacteria. Among them, lactobacilli are considered the principal ones for their role in protecting the vagina. These micro-organisms are primarily responsible for protective acidity of the vagina. Wash the vagina too often increases its pH, which disrupts the vaginal flora and can cause vaginal infections and particularly unpleasant odors. That is, do not rush to wash your vaginal excessively when you suffer from vaginal health issues.

If the vaginal flora is disrupted, pathogenic bacteria proliferate, resulting in bacterial vaginosis. This type of proliferation tends to increase the number of bacteria normally present in the vagina causing unpleasant fishy vaginal odor.

What are the causes of vaginal odor?

Besides excessive washing, douching, tight clothes and certain chemicals (scented body washes, antibacterial soap, etc) can cause vaginal infection or yeast infections. Certain contraceptives and foreign body in vagina can provoke vaginal odor and other major health issues. Vaginal and anal intercourse alternation during the same session can cause vaginal infection resulting in vaginal odor. Though rare, diet can affect the smell of your vagina. In some cases of vaginal odor, eating a healthy diet (eating fruit and vegetables abundantly) can remediate the condition without any medical treatment

Useful tips

Wear clean tampons and change them regularlys Avoid Douching, it is not necessary; it can damage or destroy the normal acidity of the vagina resulting in vaginal problems. If you suffer from ant type of vaginal infection, it is recommended to avoid wearing tight underwear and pants so that the vagina can breathe easier. Tight clothes can irritate the vagina and cause or increase vaginal odor. Wearing cotton panties is also important. If a vaginal infection persists despite treatment, you need to see a doctor because it could be a sign of Cancer of the cervix or vagina, Bacterial Vaginosis, Chlamydia, Genital Herpes, Gonorrhea, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), Vaginitis, Yeast Infection, etc.

For women, after intercourse, it is important to go urinate. Urination after sex helps to remove any possible bacteria that may be outside or inside the vaginal canal that would go up in the urethra. Because once present, these microbes tend to go up into the bladder, and can cause recurrent urinary infections. Urination causes a cleansing effect, forcing the microbes outside.
